50cm resolution, 14 bits Dynamic range
In operation since 2012, the Kompsat constellation features two sub-metric optical satellites with high radiometric resolution. Kompsat-3 offers 16 km wide swath images with a sensor, AEISS, capable of recording images with exceptional 14-bit depth. This gives excellent images unmatched in the shadows and in the highlights. In addition, the ascending orbit of Kompsat-3 allows for the observation of landscape features at 13:30 UTC which gives an image with a solar angle radically different from most very high resolution observation missions. It is a perfect tool for agricultural, environmental and prospecting purposes.
